What’s with all the corrupt cookies you keep serving me? I don’t really want to have to delete all your cookies (from about 5 different domains and subdomains by the way) every single time I want to check my account.
Don’t even get me started with why I’m checking it with a frequency that borders on obsessive compulsive disorder. I’d tell you, but then I’d have to go make sure the oven is off (3 times).
Hmmm… I wonder if it’s time to take up that periodic addiction to Tetris again. It’s been at least a year or more. Those shapes need ordering, and I’m just the guy to do it.

I upgraded to Moveable Type 2.6. One welcome change already - I see that text entry boxes are now reasonably sized in Moz for the Mac. They used to be these teeny, tiny little bits of a thing.
I think I may have upgraded to run this off of MySQL as well. I’m not sure though. The upgrade process errored out because of a file permission problem on one of the template files I link to.
I fixed the permissions, but then when I tried to run the upgrade script again it errored out telling me that one of the tables had already been created. As a side effect, all of my templates were trashed. I recreated them, and now everything seems to be OK. At least the site rebuilt OK, and if you’re reading this then posting must work.
Let me know if you run into any problems. Also, please let me know if you know of a way that I can verify that I’m running off MySQL instead of the Berkeley DB.

A recent server upgrade seems to have hosed the database files that power this site. That means I can’t log in to Movable Type, my content management system, to post new entries. It also means you probably can’t comment. I’m working on a fix, but there have been a few roadblocks. In the meantime, posts may be few and far between.
Update: Thank you FastServe Tech Support team. You guys is da bomb.

I always secretly wished I could be a font snob. Thing is, I came to graphic design by way of copywriting, and I guess I just don’t really have it in me to care that much about the finer points.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m all about attention to detail, and I will take time to make sure a design works. It’s just worrying about something as esoteric as subtle font choices never really seemed like a good allocation of time or resources. Still, I’m sure that font choice does make a difference on some level, and I have great respect for somebody who cares enough to agonize over individual letter kerning or X height. Now, for those of you who do care, there’s Fonts Anon.

Ooooh, I dig the design over on arakna.net. It’s so colorful and geometric, it makes me want to redesign here. In case it changes, here’s a screen grab.

So how come nobody told me my category template was missing a closing div tag (just guessing)? As you scroll down the page, the entry boxes get smaller and smaller and smaller until they just up and disappear.
You’ve all been sitting in quiet judgment laughing at the lameness that is me haven’t you? Well thanks a lot. Excuse me now while I dig into the source and …. Eeehh — I’ll fix it later. I’m busy watching the Hackers DVD which really, really blows in just the best way possible.
