Sitemaps are a way to clue search engines into the structure of your site. It’s an interesting idea, but it would seem to require a lot of hand tweaking or a site that is build by a database.

Gender Bias in Web Design Esthetics

It seems a report has found that women prefer round and soft designs. Given recent experiences at work, this doesn’t surprise me at all. However, I think the case seems terribly over-stated.

Cascading Style Cheat Sheet

I need to bookmark the Cascading Style Cheatsheet one every one of my computers. It seems I’m always forgetting some of this stuff and needing to look it up (I guess if I redesigned more often, I wouldn’t have that problem). This offers a pretty nice presentation of syntax complete with examples.

Boy, I just don’t know about VisitorVille. I think I’d rather have pie charts and piles of numbers, but I do know some people who would probably prefer viewing site traffic like a SimCity game. For all of you like that, this may be up your alley.

Do you use MovableType? Your mt-send-entry.cgi may be vulnerable to spammers who will send their evil mail through your ISP. Read It, Update it, or just delete mt-send-entry.cgi.

Comment Spam

Turns out the comment spam I mentioned a few entries down was an automated attack. Lots of people were hit by it over the weekend. Jay Allen was kind enough to develop a MovableType plug called MT-Blacklist to help fight against it.

Machine Generated Web Design

Something about this seems so cool. They’ve built a program that tweaks CSS to create machine generated web design. Keep refreshing, and you’ll keep getting a new design. Yes, it’s totally pointless. That’s what makes it neat. Thanks Matt
