I found myself very taken by the photographs (NSFW) of Gregory Crewdson. I’ve always been drawn to images of isolation and quiet contemplation. In these particular photos, there seems to be an undercurrent of pain and loneliness that I don’t care for as much, but broadly, I am very interested in his work.

Flash Photography with Canon EOS Cameras – Part I. provides a very detailed discussion of using Flash with Canon cameras. It also may help explain why some images I took recently had a bunch of motion blur even though I was using flash and expected to be able to freeze the action.

I really like Todd Hido’s Photography. The landscapes in particular are wonderful. I don’t like the portraits as much. He seems to make better photographs when the people are gone — or more to the point, present but not seen.
There’s a Retrospective of Wolfgang Tillmans at the Hammer museum right now. I’m not as familiar with photographers as I’d like to be, but after seeing his image Chaos Cup I definitely want to go check this show out.
