Excel Tips and Techniques

Man, and all this time, I’ve been creating manual groupings for my pivot tables. How on earth did I miss that Excel will do that for me? Doh!

Excel Tips and Techniques

BlackBoxVoting has completed log analysis of 40 touch screen voting machines in Florida and found multiple problems. They don’t go so far as to label it voter fraud yet, but I do.

Proof of Vote Fraud in 2004 Florida Election. Don’t accept this America!

Interesting Presentation

Dick Hardt’s Keynote at Identity 2.0 was pretty interesting. It seems to me that the browser is more likely to be where something like this happens, but I’d never heard of any of the companies he mentions at the end, so I’m clearly out of the loop on a bunch of that stuff.

Mayan Astronomy

Some interesting speculation into why the Mayans chose 2012 for the end of their calendar.

Q & Aha

Interesting experiment in teaching kids binary arithmetic using The Socratic Method.

Cafe Testing

Cafe Testing sounds like an interesting way to get some quick user feedback on a web site. I might need to go stake out a cafe next weekend.

The Occupation

The Occupation offers a fascinating view of life in Iraq. It’s a little biased, particularly the person asking the questions, but the responses are really interesting and feel genuine to me.

Pull Her Finger

According to an outtake from some gross facts book, the typical person produces enough saliva over the course of their life to fill a swimming pool. Oh, and girls fart 3 times more often then guys.

What the World Needs Now

Is another folk singer, like I need …

No, what the world really needs is a WTF Ligature.

Be warned, when I viewed the page an off-site graphic link had been replaced with an image of Tub Girl *shudder*

Good Manifesto

25 Ways to Distinguish Yourself is a PDF manifesto. I almost didn’t download it because what’s the point of PDF when it could just as easily be a web page.

It’s pretty (though I don’t think it needs to be a PDF to be pretty), but more importantly, the content is pretty good. It is worth downloading and launching an alternate application to read it (even if I don’t think you should have to).
