I just mentioned the Photography of Todd Hido a few posts before this one. It turns out that he currently has a showing at the Rose Gallery . I’m so there!

I took a drive up to Santa Barbara to check out their Monarch Butterfly Preserve. It’s kind of an interesting place. I really like Todd Hido’s Photography. The landscapes in particular are wonderful. I don’t like the portraits as much. He seems to make better photographs when the people are gone — or more to the point, present but not seen.

There’s a Retrospective of Wolfgang Tillmans at the Hammer museum right now. I’m not as familiar with photographers as I’d like to be, but after seeing his image Chaos Cup I definitely want to go check this show out. I haven’t personally confirmed this, but according to Slate, if Amazon drops their price on an item you’ve purchased within the past 30 days, they’ll refund you the difference. Provided of course that you ask (and know who to ask).
