I Like Edgar

Well, I like Edgar. Unfortunately, it seems like I’m the only one who does: Nobody Likes Edgar

Encyclopedia Mythica

Encyclopedia Mythica looks like a very nice resource.

Balance the Kitty

When I was younger, I used to like to balance a broom handle upright on my hand. It’s way easier in real life than it is on a computer, and it’s way easier with a mouse than it is with a track pad. furafuraneko.

Exactitudes is an interesting look at lots of people wearing basically the same thing. The index page is a bit too small for my tastes, and I don’t like the way the thumbnails re-order themselves on every page view, but all in all, it’s an interesting project.

Please Make It Stop

Lllama Llama Duck

Now you tell me

Boy, I could have used a site like Convince Your Mom.com about two weeks ago.

Welcome to Convinceyourmom.com,
a website to help you convince those
you care about not to vote for
George W. Bush in this year’s election.

Here, I’ve been spending my mornings running around doing the research to find the facts to show my mom what a truly bad job the Bush administration has done in the past four years, and here somebody had already done all of the leg work for me.

Oh sure, it’s been pretty easy to find reasons to send her not to vote for Bush, but now it will be even easier yet. Thank you internet.

Fast Questions

OK, don’t take any notes or use a calculator, and remember your replies must be instantaneous. Take heart!!

Take 1000. Add 40.
Add another 1000.
Add 30. 1000 again.
Plus 20. Plus 1000.
And plus 10.

What is the total?

Even when I was told that the answer wasn’t 5,000, I went through it again and got 5,000 a second time. Stupid Fast Questions

Holy Crap! My Bowflex just totally kicked my big ol’ cotton soft ass. I’d go and pour myself a nice tall glass of water if I thought there was a chance in hell I could actually lift it.

*pant* *pant* *pant*

Oh …. I feel myself getting pulled into a tunnel. The light looks so peaceful. I’m coming light. I’m coming.

Seriously. I have to either work out a lot more or a lot less. Right now, I’m leaning towards less.

Whew!

Falling Behind

I feel like there’s something I’m not getting about del.icio.us. Everywhere i go on the web, people are talking about it (and flickr) as the new hotness. Maybe it’s that these things are fundamentally community tools, and I’m not as jacked in to any particular communities.

I can see where having a site of bookmarks that you can search could be useful, but I’m not sure how it’s all that different from blogs. Now, if people didn’t have web pages where they can hang their links, then something like this could be super useful, but the people I see embracing and celebrating it all have their own web pages anyway, so I’m not sure what the point is.

Help me out here people. What am I missing about these things?

I find it really surprising, but it turns out you can swim in syrup just as fast as you can swim in water. Now I really want to go jump into a pool of syrup, or maybe just dive into a big plate of pancakes. Mmmmm… Pancakes.
