Things that will freak you right the hell out #457:
I’m just sitting there playing around on the internet with the TV going in the background. There may have been a little dozing off. Late night and early morning — you know how it goes.

All of a sudden, I smell smoke. Evil, burning plastic and metal horribly noxious smelling smoke. So now I’m wandering around my place sniffing to try to figure out if there’s an electrical fire or something going on in my walls. I’m a little light headed now as I type this — do you see how I put my site above my personal safety? I’m sick like that.

I think I have myself convinced it’s coming from outside. There’s an oil refinery or something down the road, and I’m wondering if they vented noxious gunk or something. But, that means I can’t open my windows to clear the air out. I’m stuck and still only barely convinced that my place isn’t on fire right now.

I’ll let you know how it goes — assuming I don’t burst into flames in my sleep tonight.

Update: Right after I made my entry, I went outside, and I didn’t smell anything there. I smelled it really bad in my living room though, so I decided it would be better to be safe than sorry. The first time I ever called 911.

The firetruck got here, and they didn’t smell anything, and when they invited me back up into my place, I couldn’t smell anything either. I feel like a complete fool now. I guess no fire is better than a fire. I hope I wasn’t pulling them away from something important though for my nervous nellying.
