Long-term Storage?

Hmmmm… Some Dutch publication claims that in tests, consumer recordable CDs become unreadable (or at least substantially degraded) in as little as 2 years. Some of the comments below the translated story suggest varying degrees of disagreement or agreement, but it’s still enough to give you pause.
I’ve taken to archiving my full-resolution photos, then shrinking them down on my computer and deleting the really crappy ones so I don’t use any more disk space than I need. I know I should be making multiple copies. I even started out doing that, but well, you know. I may need to revisit that process.
