We Beat Penicillin!

More than 6 percent of all traffic I’ve seen on this site in the past 13 months came here today. Thanks for the traffic hit there popdex. For all of you who are here for the first time, this is one of those lame ass link type of blogs, so I don’t have the batman dead end video you all seem to be looking for. I did link to it. I don’t know if the link is still live, but I think it’s down the page a few postings.

Anyway, as long as you’re all here, you might want to take a quick glance at my battle with the plastic sack or perhaps you’d like to read about my recent massage. They’re only slightly less lame than the rest of the site, but they are original content.

So, thanks for stopping by. I don’t expect I’ll see most of you ever again, but it was great of you to drop in. Please do watch the flowers on your way out. We just planted them.

Great Art

Linda Zacks’ art is really interesting in a chaotic, energized way. My new goal for August is to be more chaotic and energized (probably because the last week in July has seen me really tired for some reason).

26 and Done

Whew! I have been snapping pictures like a mad man for the past week and a half. I waited way too long to get started (they give you a full month for a reason), so I’m not entirely happy with all the images. Still, I finally managed to finish my entry for the 26 Things Project.

You can see my take on the project here.

Losing It

Hmmm… It seems like I remember being way better at Donkey Kong Nutz.

Blue Modem

You ever spend an hour downloading a 700 Meg video file (no, not porn you dirty minded little scamps), only to find that you don’t have a media player that will run it? Don’t you hate that? I mean come on. You can’t get me all worked up and then leave me hanging like that, Internet. It’s just not healthy for a guy.

Spare Time Sketches

The front page of Fold It makes it seem like the various people who are creating these drawings don’t know what the other person(s) did. They line up too well for that though, so there must be some unfolding going on before the final thing is complete.

The results are interesting, but that probably has more to do with the skill of the illustrators than it does the technique. Thanks Hypermind

See It While You Can

Links like this have a tendency to disappear pretty quick. If you can see it though, it’s worth it. Batman: Dead End is a 40+ Meg QuickTime movie. It has that home made, fan type of feel to it, but the production values are remarkably good. The credits say it’s a promotional piece for the film makers, and they clearly invested a great deal of money and/or time into making this. Nice work all around.

We Are Become Gods

Pyramids, Stonehenge - these construction projects are nothing compared to what the United Arab Emirates are doing. They’re building Massive Islands. They’re just raising them right up out of the sea like magic or something.

It’s taken years of planning, and enough fill materials to circle the globe about 3 times. It is just so amazing and unbelievable what you can do if you have enough money. Thanks Boing Boing.

Say What?

Hmmm… Nope, I don’t get it. Well, I get that it’s an ad for cell phones. Beyond that, I just don’t understand. Guy dances in public. This is against the law in a Brave New World meets Footloose kind of way. Pandemonium ensues. Yep, this makes no sense at all to me.

It is kind of cool to look at though.

Well, I’m not sure if this guy is a stalker or an artist, but I love the concept and if the trailer is any indication, I think I would like to see the movie. Of course, I could only be talking about My Date with Drew.

I suspect that Drew Barrymore is not one of my 4 readers, but Drew — if you are out there, then please go out with the guy.
