I finally managed to finish Perdido Street Station. It is as though a huge weight has been removed from my skull.
Don’t get me wrong. It’s a reasonably good book filled with many interesting inventions. It’s just that I’ve been struggling to get through this thing since at least early December of last year. Other books kept cropping up to distract me here or there, but this one kept hanging over me like a grey fog that I’d have to return to and slowly wade through a page or two at a time.
So, finally it is done. Now on to The Da Vinci Code. Hopefully this one will go a bunch faster.
I really like Perdido Street Station, especially the Weaver, and that bit where everything happens, near the end. I read it a while ago, and it seems like the book itself was a dream.
