One of MetaFilter’s members, vitpil is apparently living in Nigeria, and (s)he detailed all the competing ideas and power-plays within the political landscape of the country. Very interesting – especially for people who are appalled by the mother who is sentenced to be stoned to death for having her baby out of wedlock.

I have always wanted a Star Wars Land Speeder. I didn’t want a speeder as desparately as I wanted a light saber or the ability to float a spaceship with the power of my mind, but this is still pretty freaking cool if you ask me.
