Group Filtering

BIMBO looks like an interesting idea:

BIMBO, apart from being an extremely contrived acronym, is a computer program which, roughly speaking, reads the web so that you don't have to. It gathers links from a set of sources -- mainly, web logs and news pages -- and invites a group of moderators -- the oligarchy of the title -- to vote on whether or not they are interesting.
Too much news content for my tastes, but as I randomly go from blog to blog, it is amazing at how many of them have content that is of no appeal to me. That is of course the beauty of niche publishing. I think we do need more collaborative filtering and trusted editors though to hi-light the stuff that each individual is interested in finding.
