Dear Sir or Madam -
We have so enjoyed serving you and your auto insurance needs for these past 3 years, that we have enclosed a complimentary 15% rate hike over what you paid 6 months ago
15% !? Oh, I think I see the problem:
Important information about annual miles drivenGosh, I've had my car for just over 3 years. I have just over 20,000 miles on it. Now I know I didn't learn all that fancy rithmatic as well as the folks you've got in your call center, but I'm still pretty sure I can manage to figure out that 20K/3 is a hell of a lot less than 12K.
The number of estimated annual miles driven is one of the factors used to determine your insurance premium. Your current policy premium is based on estimated vehicle mileage of less than 12,000 miles per year. Many studies have shown that the average vehicle is driven more than 12,000 miles per year, which includes mileage driven to and from work and for personal and pleasure use. Based on this information, we have increased the estimated annual mileage for your vehicles(s) to 12,000 miles.
If you feel that the estimated mileage is incorrect, please contact Policy Services and have the following information available:
A Customer Service Representative will assist you in determining your estimated annual mileage for the upcoming policy period. You may be asked a series of questions regarding daily use of your vehicle(s), and, if needed, may be asked to fax or mail supporting documentation. If the estimated annual mileage is changed, a revised renewal offer will be provided.
- Copies of your last two oil change or vehicle service statements that show odometer readings and date of service
- Current odometer reading
- Approximate one way mileage driven to work or school
Let me help you with something - the only reason your customers (at least this customer) don't compare your prices to other providers every six months is because it's ever so much easier to just write a check. But! If you stupid, anti-customer clowns want to disbelieve me and make me jump through hoops for you, then you'd better f'n pray that you've got the lowest prices in town. They better be lower by a long-shot.
Think twice about getting your insurance from Progressive kids. It ain't worth the bother.
